We have a PODCAST!

Colonel's Blog, Earthdate 27 July 2023...

Hey Y'all!

Good evening and happy Thursday from Air2Ground Farms! It was HOT again today. The animals are all good with nothing significant to report. We gave the beef cows an extra paddock this morning. Mid-morning, we noticed there wasn't any water. Never a good thing, we rushed to the pump house to find the well pump running, so we closed the valve and it immediately began building pressure. That told us we had a leak somewhere. We quickly checked the dairy cows and sheep float valves but they were both good. We went next to the waterer I just fixed and sure enough, the hose connected to the new fitting I just installed split. In order for the well pump to operate properly, we have it set to kick on at 35psi and off at 50psi. By the time the water makes it a couple hundred feet down the hill, it is over 85psi. At that pressure, we are finding it difficult to keep hoses from splitting, even heavy duty ones. I removed the fitting I installed the other day and just put a plug in it. We have no hose access at that waterer, but at least the water is back on. We were able to preserve some tomatoes today, second pic. Makaylah helped as Shelley as she taught her the proper way to water-bath can tomatoes. The majority of the day we worked on our...Podcast Trailer! We are very excited to announce our new podcast, the "Dust'er Mud Podcast." We have been working on this for weeks and finally got everything together enough to kick it off. It took us hours today to get everything up and running and connected to all of the sites, even with all of the prep work over the past few weeks. We will publish a new episode every week and plan to use the same type of format I use here in the blog where we will give a quick farm update and then have a topic we chat over. Our ultimate goal is to build a community around food, freedom, and farming. Please, check it out AND let us know what you think! The Dust'er Mud Podcast!!
