Hey Y'all!
Good evening and happy Sunday from Air2Ground Farms! I hope you have had a wonderful weekend! The weather is still quite hot here and we have been doing things mostly inside during the heat of the day. The animals are all doing very well with no updates. The market yesterday was the slowest day yet this season, but like the past markets, we met some new folks and had good conversations with them and some of our friends. I spent the afternoon yesterday on the tractor in the A/C clipping the pasture nearest the house. I finished just in time for evening rounds. It started sprinkling as we were finishing milking and there was a BIG black thunderstorm just to the west moving our direction. I checked the weather app and saw we were under multiple severe thunderstorm advisories with damaging hail expected. We immediately started stuffing the barn with vehicles and finished just as the lightning was popping all around us with one close by that knocked the electricity out again. We were without power for about 2 hours. It rained over an inch in less than 30 minutes with 60 mph winds but didn't hail, thankfully. As the storm passed to the east, the sun was setting to the west forming a beautiful rainbow that was visible just outside our front door. I decided to try to take some pics of the blue lightning seemingly forming in the middle of the rainbow and shooting across the sky over the house. I got a few shots, above. Today, Auntie Fiat and Company showed up again with chainsaws at the ready and took care of a couple more trees for us as we were doing morning rounds. We used the tractor to move a few big pieces of an old hickory tree that fell through the fence. We may try to get some boards out of it. After finishing the trees, we had a relaxing brunch that turned into a few hours of great conversation. The next batch of beef chickens show up this week and we should pick up the beef and lamb from the processor. Another busy week at Air2Ground Farms! I wish you a happy and productive week!
