Hey Y’all!
Good evening and happy Monday from Air2Ground Farms! It almost felt cool this morning when we went out for rounds and it was a low humidity 69 degrees. What a welcome relief! The animals are all doing very well today. I added a couple of pics of the hogs this morning awaiting their breakfast and one of the bottle lambs early Saturday morning. The lambs in the big flock are doing well and we haven’t lost any more to parasites. The market Saturday was our best yet as folks showed up to purchase beef and lamb. We didn’t sell any chicken and only a little pork, but sold out of all of the lamb we brought with us and almost all of the beef we brought. The bottom two pics are the ground beef and ground lamb. We cooked some so that we could talk to folks about how it tastes. By the way, they are both AMAZING! I spent most of the day Sunday running the weed-eater, both the string and blade—a small price to pay for the rain allowing the grass to grow. While I was weeding, Shelley was canning tomatoes and peppers. Sunday she made a few gallons of an Italian sauce and today she made a couple gallons of a Mexican sauce. She also made yogurt and cheese both days. I made a new paddock for the hogs today and they are slowly making their way over to the new ground. I just left their old one up and built an opening to the new one. When it’s time to eat, they’ll all go to the new area to their feed troughs and I’ll close them in. We’ll record the next episode of our podcast tomorrow after we get back from our dental cleaning.
